Natural Wonders at Plemont Bay

If you want to explore the beach and sunbathe on the golden sand, make sure to go during low tide. If you happen to visit while the tide is high and the sand is hidden, you can wonder along the beautiful coastal paths around the headland either east to Greve de Lecq, or west towards Gronez Castle. Both footpaths lead from the Plemont Beach Café, the perfect location for a post-walk refuel.

This secret bay is also populated with an exciting array of birds and wildlife. If you look closely, you may just be able to see the puffins that inhabit the cliffs of Plemont Point. Look to the water and you might see some of Jersey’s unusual sea creatures such as the beautiful cuckoo wrasse fish or the short snouted seahorse. If you’re looking on land, the dunes are home to many interesting animals such as the western green lizard (with Jersey being their only natural home), the lesser white-toothed shrew, and the short-toed treecreeper. Summer, when the sun is shining, is the best time to seek out the reptiles or for those with more interest in what creatures lurk within the rockpools, Autumn is best as the sea is at its warmest.
