Castle Cornet (3).jpg

Take a walk along the seafront where you’ll arrive at Castle Cornet, an imposing 800 year old castle complete with four museums and four period gardens. If you stop by at 12 o’clock, you will see the Noon-day gun fired by scarlet clad castle keepers who will stay and post for photos with you after every firing. There are children’s trails to follow around the castle, activity sheets in some of the museums and dressing up available to wear around the castle. Every day from Easter to September, there are Living History Performances from the History in Action Company.

If you need to cool off, take a dip in The Bathing Pools at La Vallette, as they are affectionately known. This area has been recently rejuvenated providing a welcoming venue to support health and wellbeing, educational opportunities, a love of our environment and a year-round, indoor café that boasts beautiful views across Castle Cornet, the sea and Guernsey’s neighbouring islands.

Candie Gardens.jpg

Walk up through the picturesque Candie Gardens to reach The Guernsey Museum at Candie – this is a great spot to visit to learn more about the Islands. The Discovery Room is a dedicated space for children with lots to explore, and this year the theme for the year is ‘A Picnic with Renoir’.

You might also like to climb the stairs to the top of the highest tower in St Peter Port, Victoria Tower. The key to enter must be collected from the Guernsey Museum, which is just a short walk away.

Venturing out of our main town, challenge your family to 18 holes of mini-golf adventure at Oatlands Village. Here you will also find Oaty & Joeys, a large playbarn, a jeweller’s, a chocolatier, a pet shop, a restaurant, trampolines and a children’s go-kart.

Little Chapel.jpg

Head to the Pirate Bay Adventure Golf at Golf19 (St Pierre Park Hotel) This course features 12 interactive and challenging holes. Putt your way through a tropical paradise, but beware of the pirates and the pesky wildlife! Pirate Bay features a tavern, cannon, shipwrecks and plenty of treasure. Golf19 also includes a golf course, driving range and a restaurant.

Cornerstones of Guernsey’s history, The Little Chapel and Sausmarez Manor are well worth a visit. The Little Chapel is entirely unique, covered entirely in broken china and pebbles. It can be incorporated as part of a circular walk so you can take in the surrounding countryside too. The gardens of Sausmarez Manor include a Sculpture Trail, perfect for younger visitors, and at its sister location Saumarez Park, you can find the beautiful Victorian Walled Garden.

Don’t forget to stop for Guernsey ice-cream (made in Guernsey’s own Dairy) which can be found in many of the St Peter Port’s shops, restaurants or kiosks.
