Passenger Services Agents

Location: Poole

Passenger Services Agent                   Seasonal - Part time  

Condor Ferries                       20 hours per week- shift work

Based in Poole Port                                                                

 

We are looking to recruit seasonal part time Passenger Services Agents to operate in our Poole Port, in the inaugural season of our new vessel “Liberation”.

 

Main responsibilities of a Passenger Services Agent are:-

 

  • Assisting with the checking-in, marshalling and loading and unloading, collection of passengers, vehicles and freight/goods to and from all company vessel.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of all paperwork and administrative procedures relating to all vehicle, passenger, freight and vessel movements.
  • Provide a reservations service, via telephone and face to face, supporting our central reservations office.

 

 

Key Skills & Personal Profile

  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written
  • Articulate & confident telephone manner
  • Accurate keyboard/computer skills
  • Excellent customer Service
  • Manual handling essential
  • Full UK driving licence to be held at all times preferably

 

Reporting to the local Passenger Services Management Team, you will be expected to work unsociable hours on a shift rota basis which will include weekends and bank holidays.

Warehouse Agent (Seasonal)

Location: Poole

Warehouse Agent                  ( Seasonal – Full time 40 hours)

Based at Poole Harbour

 

Condor Ferries is looking to recruit a seasonal Warehouse Agent to work the day shift (06:00 – 17:00) in the Condor warehouse based in Poole Port.

The successful applicant would be expected to hold a full Driving Licence and be able to tow trailers (Cat. C1E) plus a valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence. Previous experience of working within a warehouse environment and working as a team would also be desirable.

 

The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of goods in a timely manner and in accordance with all relevant HMRC legislation and Company procedures, and to maintain the working safety culture throughout the warehouse operation. Also to ensure the timely operation of all daily warehouse functions ensuring the warehouse meets and exceeds company expectations.

 

The position involves working a 40 hour week ( 4 shifts on / 4 days off), and occasional working on weekends and bank holidays.  In return you can expect a competitive rate of pay and excellent concessionary travel on our fleet.

Head of Marine Operations

We are pleased to be introducing a new role, Head of Marine Operations, reporting to our Executive Director of Operations.

 

The Head of Marine Operations will be responsible for delivering the Marine strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director of Operations.  They will oversee Fleet and Assets and the operational management of the conventional and high speed ferries between the UK, Channel Islands and France.  They will also provide hands on management, leadership and direction to the team and work closely with the Executive Directors in the planning, developing and implementation of new and current methods and techniques to ensure the effective and efficient running of the department and operation.

 

This role requires a diverse skill set and a high level of commitment in order to manage a complex 24/7 operation.  The successful candidate will be commercially minded and able to adapt quickly to the changing priorities and requirements of the business.  A proactive problem solver, able to make objective and robust decisions, the Head of Marine Operations will be able to remain calm in a crisis and manage a diverse team across different locations.

 

The Head of Marine Operations will be able to effectively contribute to the strategic direction of the business and devise and deliver operational objectives linked with the overall strategy.  The successful applicant will have a background of operational experience and be able to provide a high degree of leadership to their team while collaborating effectively with the Executive Directors.
